Insurance Information
All trials conducted at SCRUK have a sponsor who will cover the costs of the trial treatment. However there are some costs which will not be included in this.
- The cost of you initial consultation appointment
- Treatment not related to the trial e.g. if the symptoms of your disease need to be treated and this is unrelated to the effects of the trial medication
You may have arrangements in place to cover these additional costs such as an insurance policy, an NHS referral or support from a sponsor or Embassy. However as the patient you are ultimately liable for any charges including those not settled by an insurer or sponsor. We understand that this can be a stressful and worrying part of the process and for this reason we have a patient dedicated advisor who can guide you through any problems or difficulties in this area. We have also put together a short ‘Registration Guide’ which will give you more information. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us on 020 3219 5250. Whatever your circumstance it is best to be prepared before you visit us to ensure that everything runs smoothly when you arrive and we don’t delay you.
Insured patients
If you have private health insurance please call your provider for an authorisation code (please quote the CQC service number above in reference to this unit). If your plan is under a group cover arrangement through your employer you will need to talk to your company health plan co-ordinator to check that your treatment with us is covered under their scheme and ask them for an authorisation code.
Self Pay patients
Self paying patients, payment can be taken on the day of attendance in the form of cash, cheque, or credit card.
Sponsored or Embassy Patients
You will need a letter of guarantee before your first appointment.
NHS Referrals
If your NHS consultant has referred you, you should be covered by your NHS trust, they should be able to provide you with a letter of guarantee for your first appointment.
